I would want to be a database administrator because primarily I love it and also because the rapid and widespread use of computers and information technology has generated its need. As a Database administrator I would be expected to work with database management sofware and to determine ways to organize and store data efficiently and securely.
In general, database administrators have to be able to think logically, be detail oriented, and be able to work alone or in teams. They must also be able to communicate at all levels within the company or out. They must be able to keep up with the latest technology.
There is no single way to prepare for a job as a database administrator. Some jobs may require a 2-year degree while other employer may seek workers who have a Bachelor degree.in computer science, information science, or management information systems; however candidate with degrees in variety of majors can find computer jobs. Certification is the sure way to show competence and are regarded as the industry standard.
as far as salary, the middle 50 percent of database administrators earn between $48,560 and $84,830.
I am interested in this field because as I stated it above I love computers and I am fascinated on how they work or can be used. The money is good but doing what you love is the icing on the cake.
