Volunteering is the practice of the people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. I have been volunteering ever since I was young either by helping tutor others or helping coach soccer or basketball. I also love animals and would help as much as I can to save their lives. Luckily for me I am married to someone who helps out as well being that she is a physical therapist and is working in home health care.

The last company I volunteered for is Gentiva, and I am looking forward to improving my role with them by having other activities added to the tasks I already do with them. Gentiva deals with hospice patients, and some of them need as much help as possible being that they cannot rely entirely on relatives. Thus, I am looking forward to adding to my present administrative role by going in the field and keeping the patient company by reading to them or just conversing. I also intend to help mow some of the patients’ lawn if need be. Gentiva is always looking for volunteers. Moreover as I stated above, I am an animal lover and proud owner of a mix Labrador/Great-Dane (LabraDane) large dog which I adopted from a crowded animal sanctuary. Last week my wife and I decided to adopt two more puppies that were being given away. One of them was heading for a certain death have we not decided to adopt it. It/she was literally covered in fleas and ticks, was emaciated, and the weakest of the litter. Two days after as she wasn’t eating we discovered that she had worms too; so we treated both of them and I am proud to say they both are doing great. As a matter of fact, she is so feisty that she took over as the pack leader of the three. We named them Blondie (the female) and Jumper(the male) and my LabraDane’s name is Paws (If you see his paws you’ll understand). By donating one’s effort, volunteering can be one of the most gratifying and fun things you can do.
